Laura Rice
creator, host, and co-executive producer

Laura Rice has spent over 15 years as an arts and university administrator and event and concert producer. Having designed and sewn clothing since childhood, she began her formal pursuit of a career in fashion in 2006.

Armed with a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College, she completed classes in apparel design, manufacturing, and merchandising at Los Angeles Trade and Technical College and Otis College of Art and Design. Rice returned to New York City and completed additional coursework at Parsons The New School for Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Laura received business development training from Project Enterprise and CAMBA, non-profit organizations that help develop and support entrepreneurs and small businesses in New York City. Rice also worked as a plus-size specialist with both the retail and wholesale divisions of Eileen Fisher, Inc. Further, Rice has researched and written extensively about the U.S. plus-size apparel industry and issues related to lives and lifestyles of full-figured women.
